Poland's top court has ruled that abortions in cases of fetal defect are unconstitutional.

Poland's abortions laws were already the strictest in Europe but Constitutional Tribunal's ruling will mean an almost total ban.

Access to safe abortion services is a human right. By forcing someone to carry on an unwanted pregnancy, or forcing them to seek out an unsafe abortion you violate their human rights, including the rights to privacy and bodily autonomy.

Since the ruling, protests have been taking place across entire Poland and in other cities all over the world where the Polish citizens are actively protesting against the new rule and fighting for democracy.
